ABOUT ME

J.A.Y.D.A. is a STEM InfluencHER for the 21st century. She was born in South Florida to Caribbean-American and Afro-Native American Heritage.

 

She began her formal education at Manatee Bay Elementary where she was an Honor Roll Student, Student Council Officer, STEM and Robotics Member, and Recipient of a State Congressional Award in 2019.

​

In 2019, her zeal for STEM took another leap forwar as she re-applied for the US Rocket and Space Center Scholarship. During this season she prepared for other STEMulating activities until her breakthrough came on February 7, 2020 while being inducted into the National Junior Honor Society. Jayda became to 1st Caribbean American for South Florida to receive the scholarship.

In addtion, Jayda is the Broward County Chess Queen Ambassador, Hour of Code Speaker representing Broward County Public Schools, and Top 50 Finalist for Nickelodeon Kid of the Year. She is involved in many community service projects throughout the nation including Black Girls Code, IT Women, US Chess Federation, Word Camp Miami, and TED Ed Talk Education.
